GANTER was founded as a factory for making comfort shoes in Waldkirch in the Black Forest in 1922. In 2000, GANTER was acquired by the LORENZ Shoe Group AG, and since then it has developed and marketed its products as an autonomous subsidiary. Today, GANTER is Europe’s leading brand for comfort shoes, with 85% of production being exported to 18 countries around the world. GANTER shoes are also produced under licence in Japan. Social and environmental responsibility are living principles for GANTER, and are expressed for instance in the use of only chromium-free vegetable-tanned lining leather and insoles. The interior of GANTER shoes is thus an area of protection with a high level of climate comfort and skin compatibility.
