By using environment-friendly raw materials, products and production methods, GANTER has long been making its contribution to the active protection of man and the environment. Specific measures are used to save energy and raw materials as a means towards preserving natural resources, e.g. by reducing the quantities of waste, by collecting leftover leather, paper, cardboard and cork and by recovering and recycling solvents.´

We also make environment-related demands on our suppliers, appealing to their ecological awareness and contributing to the development of new, more environment-friendly production methods. GANTER shoes are manufactured using energy-saving machinery, solvents that are all CFC-free and with soles manufactured without the use of CFCs.

GANTER shoeboxes have always been made of recycled paper. Carrier bags are made of cotton or paper, brochures are printed on environment-friendly unchlorinated paper. For special protection of our resources GANTER resorts to geothermal energy.

For its efforts in the field of environment protection, GANTER has received numerous special awards for environmentally aware company management.

The growing market segement of LOHAS (Lifestyle of Health and Sustainability) is discovering GANTER recently. For instance GANTER is listed as one of the few shoe producers in the product guide of lohas-guide.de.

The growing interest for green products in the USA resulted in the listing of GANTER on the ecoethics blog of WSA (World Shoe Association) Today.
