Terracare® - leather as it should be

The terracare® label from the Heinen leather factory stands for exemplary performance leather, produced in a traditional German company. For that terracare® leather is manufactured as environmentally friendly as possible: only raw materials from German farm animals are used, which are processed in the most environmentally friendly way possible. Through various measures, the company was able to reduce water consumption by 40%. Terracare® avoids waste almost completely with a recycling rate of 97% and minimizes its CO² footprint through the use of renewable energies.

RELTEX

RELTEX has been making shoe soles from Hevea milk in France since it was founded in 1970. The Hevea milk comes from responsibly managed plantations in MALAYSIA and THAILAND.

The artisanal manufacturing process is unique and follows these phases:
• Pouring Hevea milk into molds • Coagulation • Cooking • Drying

Since 2007, the company has been labeled “ENTRPREPRISE DU PATRIMOINE VIVANT” (LIVING HERITAGE COMPANY)

The soles have been marketed under the LACTAE HEVEA brand since 1992 and are used by high-quality shoe brands. Their exceptional comfort is recognized worldwide.

STEINER

In 1888 the Steiner family founded a loden factory at the foot of the Dachstein massif to process local sheep wool. More than a century later, Steiner processes high-quality wool from all over the world into the finest, 100% natural products.

The family business is now in the fifth generation. However, the company philosophy was and is always the same: "From the selection of the wool to the gentle fiber processing, every piece is made with care and love.."

Gommus is an Italian company that has been producing and selling high-performance

JAEGER

With more than 95 years of experience, Jaeger manufactures products based on textile and synthetic components for a wide range of industrial applications.

These products perform key functions within entire systems: reinforcing, sealing, coating, laminating, cementing and binding. Jaeger has been an important partner to the shoe and leather goods industry for years and supplies well-known companies with the highest quality requirements.

They rely on sustainability through particularly environmentally friendly raw materials and their processing, such as Tencel, organic cotton, linen, wool, recycled PES and PA.

CARL KLOSTERMANN SÖHNE

In 1891, Carl Klostermann and his sons founded the Carl Klostermann Söhne company. Since then, the Klostermann family and their descendants have been manufacturing braided products, primarily cords and shoe laces, in Wuppertal.

The company philosophy is “We have to leave our children and grandchildren an intact ecological, social and economic structure. One cannot be had without the other ”(quote from the German Council for Sustainable Development). Since 2020, they have been covering part of their electricity needs with their own produced electricity, and the rest they buy as green electricity.

They also rely on short routes in purchasing, the use of sustainable products (e.g. Tencel™), avoidance and separation of waste and energy savings through targeted monitoring.
